Armstrong A-Wing XPS

The A-Wing XPS (Cross Panel Sail Design) comes in the following sizes:

2.6m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 4.0m, 4.6m, 5.3m and 6.1m

Having to step up from the A-Wing V2, Armstrong recruited the world's leading wing and kite designers to craft a wing with hyper connected riding feel, sublime upwind performance and next level speed & rock solid stability. The goal was to produce a wing, which excels wether you're free flying, wave riding or wanting to propel yourself through a freestyle session.

The result is exactly that, the Armstrong A-Wing XPS delivers the performance power and control we all crave for. Each aspect of the XPS Wing was tirelessly thought out, tested and finely tuned in a wide range of riding conditions.

The innovative cross panel sail (XPS) provides the perfectly balanced connection between wing and rider. The panel layout reduces distortion through improved load distribution and frame rigidity, which results in a very direct & controlled feel for all sizes.

The XPS's airfoil section, combined with the pre-twist geometry is an essential part to the incredible speed, efficient feel and amazing upwind performance. This all greatly supports jumping hight for freestyle moves, hang time and float for smooth landings.

But never the less, all our passion is foil riding waves, so to complete the XPS's round up the wing is a dream with little to no luffing, sail flutter and excellent stability, allowing the rider to focus less on the wing and more on shredding the wave.

This wing wouldn't be complete without the newly developed hybrid carbon handle (HCH). This has a rigid carbon interior skeleton and soft padded exterior grip. The HCH's combination of materials offers the best balance for control, comfort and safety.

Armstrong tested hundreds of individual materials during the development of the A-Wing XPS. In the end Armstrong gave the XPS a new generation high quality lightweight Dacron, tried and tested polyester Dacron and Ultra PE woven laminate for the key reinforcement areas. This gives the new Armstrong Wing impressive strength, durability and overall performance.
