Collection: What's Wing Foiling?

What is wing foiling?

Winging, wing surfing, wing foiling is a cross over sensation and the newest watersport with a toe in most of our other sports.

Winging is a combination of windsurfing, kitesurfing and foiling, where the rider uses a wing with an inflated leading edge to power them along. Unlike windsurfing, the wing isn’t attached to the board, but controlled by your hands whilst standing on the board.

Wing foiling requires a specifically designed wing foil board which has a hydrofoil attached.

What is the difference between wing surfing and wing foiling?

Wing surfing is the initial introduction to the sport of winging, without a hydrofoil attached to the bottom of the board. Generally taught using a stand up paddle board or large windsurfing board combined with a wing to create momentum and power the rider along. Great for all ages and abilities and no previous watersports experience necessary. Wing Surfing is quick and easy to learn and a great introduction to the sport, generally taking you a day to be up and riding around.

Wing foiling is where the excitement takes place and once hooked taking those first foiling flights and experiencing the sensation of hovering over the water is like nothing else you have experienced.  Progressing onto wing foiling requires a specifically designed board with a hydrofoil attached, along with a wing.
