The Life Series has been our 'entry level' range since we introduced it 2011, but to call these lovely paddles entry level really does not do them justice, since they more than compete with many brands mid to high end models!
With the new Life, we wanted to bring in many of the features from our higher models, while tuning the feel and performance to ensure that this range continued to offer all the feel, comfort and performance you which are so important from your very first paddle, but we really wanted to ensure that everyone thought it could be a paddle that will suit you for life!
The new Glass Blades, ABS blade Edge, Full 3K Carbon Handle, increased range of adjustment and slightly higher Carbon content have all served to increase the price a little since 2011, but these new models really deliver, ensuring we continue to uphold our reputation for great value, nice handling, light, high quality paddles.
Featuring 2 different 3K Blue Glass ABS edged blades, a 29mm diameter 40% Carbon shaft, 100% Carbon Handle(something you will find on very few other brands, regardless of price), with Blade, Carbon Shaft and Handle in Gloss finish. The Life is only available as adjustable models, with a Matt finish sliding shaft which has contrasting White calibration from 70" to 94" (the Petite Cruise is 54" to 76")
These paddles are aimed at all levels/styles of riders looking for a great paddle with a light and crisp overall feel, delivering lovely all round and very comfortable performance!
Our 40% Carbon/60% Glass 29mm is a 'medium to fast return' shaft, which gives a slightly softer more relaxed feel than the 'Cruise' - this performance profile is designed to suit all riders from beginner to experienced and pretty much all weights, but especially from 40 to 80kg, whom we believe will all love the way these shaft and blade combinations deliver good performance with considerable comfort, even over very long distances.
The Life encourages good technique and rider engagement with a nice dynamic feel, while still having the right flex characteristics to reduce the risk of strain, fatigue or even injury for all paddlers, especially those who are not regular paddlers, who will really benefit from a paddle which will not let them overstrain their bodies as easily as a higher performance model.
The 7.28" wide blade excels in flat water/coastal performance, while the 7.8" wide blade is aimed at all round/wave use, with very uniform steering feel due to the flatter blade face but both will work fine in either environment, and it's more a matter of personal choice so we encourage you to try both if you can.
These are the same blades found on our 'Cruise' models, which are manufactured in Red 3K Glass to differentiate the Higher Carbon Content of that models Shaft.
Of special note should be our desire to accommodate riders from 3'8" to 5'6" with the Petite models, and from 5' to 7' tall with the adjustable/fixed models in the full Life, Cruise, Glide and Race Range. Please take this into account when looking at weights, as many makes of paddles are a foot or so shorter, and for fixed models, many companies quote their weight's when cut to just 78"!
The Life is available in 4 different models, plus the Petite, which has a 7" blade and 26mm Dia. Shaft
